To Go Or Not To Go…That really is the question
In less than 24 hours I have a scheduled dental appointment. The dilemma is that there is a really high likelihood that one if not both of my dentist(s) seem likely to be indicted for first-degree murder… No BS.
I came across a headline last night about a break in a two-year old murder case of a law professor from Florida State University. Dan Markel was killed, execution style, with two bullets to the head sitting in the driveway of his home in broad daylight. I remember hearing about the case when it happened, but did not give it much thought beyond that day.
Two men were arrested this past May and June for first degree murder as the suspected triggermen in Dan Markel’s death. There was no apparent connection to the men from Miami and the deceased who had been recently divorced but still embroiled in a bitter custody issue in which he was blocking his ex-wife from taking their children 400 miles further south in Florida.
The ex-wife was initially a suspect because of the custody dispute but she seemed to have been ruled out. The break that brought the news to my attention was an arrest of a woman that the police claim served as the conduit in the murder for hire plot. The name of the as yet still un-indicted co-conspirator is Charlie Adelson. He is the brother of the deceased’s ex-wife.
Adelson is not a particularly common name and I took interest because of the coincidence in one of my dentist is named Charles Adelson. The article soon confirmed that they were in fact one in the same. Charlie Adelson was allegedly dating the woman (Katherine Magbanua) who had two children with one of the alleged hit men. In addition to Charles Adelson, his mother Donna who runs the office and his father Harvey who started the highly successful practice (and my primary dentist for the last 3 years) were also suspected in the plot against their former son in law in part because their office paid Katherine Magabnua allegedly 50 thousand in checks signed by the mother from the dental office for a job the police are claiming she rarely, If ever, showed up to.
I had a love hate relationship with the dentist as a kid. My family dentist was a butcher who also masqueraded as the Marquis de Sade. His uber sexy dental assistants and hygienists usually took my mind off the pain that each visit always ensured.
For years I kept switching dentists, unsatisfied at every turn with the service I was not receiving. Harvey Adelson came highly recommended and I finally agreed though I always had to travel some distance to get to him. When I was in an accident, his expertise and care came to light and I was now as comfortable recommending him to others. When he suggested that I needed all four of my wisdom teeth removed I was hesitant. He raved about his son Charles the Periodontist. My wisdom teeth had not hurt in many years and I was not initially convinced of the need of their removal. However, he provided literature to show the dangers of the impacted teeth and when I saw first hand, Charles remove two of someone else’s wisdom teeth in less than 20 minutes and they came out pain free I was finally convinced.
So herein lies my dilemma. A good dentist, in my opinion is hard to find. I have no moral issues regarding them being accused of something. I truly believe in innocence until proven guilty, and none of the actual family has ever been indicted, though it seems highly likely that will change for at least Charles. I just do not know how I feel about someone going that deep in my mouth with power tools and that type of pressure on their backs.
With the latest developments the wisdom teeth will minimally be delayed. My scheduled teeth cleaning; that is another question. I will just see if any breaking developments occur within the next 24 hours and decide. At the very least it will make the “how’s the family” small talk more interesting than usual.

I literally cancelled/postponed an hour prior to appointment.
Their business needs to be shut down and each one of them charged with murder! Disgusting family to say the least!
Should not have been a hard decision and glad you didn’t go. This family is guilty of murder. It’s amazing that they are walking free. Or is it? White, wealthy, own a successful practice. It’s a travesty. Many people go through divorce, custody issues, etc. It’s part of life, a difficult, sad part of life. YOU DEAL WITH IT. You don’t have your ex brother in law , ex son in law murdered because of a custody dispute. I have little faith that these rich folks are going to get any punishment on this earth for what they have done. Do they lose sleep thinking of Dan’s parents? His friends? His loved ones? He’s gone. Buried. THE FATHER OF THEIR GRANDCHILDREN. Do you think Dan’s kids aren’t going to hear the whispers, see this mess on the internet and not have questions? Again they probably won’t see the inside of a courtroom for what they’ve done. They are white and wealthy after all. However, I hope they’ve made things right with God. He doesn’t care about the color of their skin or the size of their portfolio. Hopefully He will show them mercy that they NEVER showed Dan.
Good for you. I’ve been following this case closely for some time and am convinced of their criminal involvement. Read the affidavit against Charles online — it’s rivetingly awful. Stay away!!!!

But Richard Ray, you clearly state that you have been seeing the father for three years. Leave the practice all together. They are horrible people in my opinion, especially the MOTHER who was involved in deliberately taking the life of someone else’s child. I’ve been in the dental field for over 30 years and a good dentist isn’t that hard to find.
Also may I add that a periodontist should NOT be taking out your wisdom teeth to begin with, only an oral surgeon should be removing wisdom teeth. Different specialty completely. One more tip, cancellations in most dental/medical offices should be given with 24 hours notice or they can charge you a steep fee.

He’s guilty but what’s even scarier is that the grieving widow is an assistant to a Federal Judge in Miami which means she’s got a lot of juice and could even end up with a judgeship one day herself. Unless the three Latinos roll over on these powerful and connected Democrats, they will get away with having this guy murdered.

Totally agree. I cannot believe she is working for a judge. Cannot believe she is a lawyer. It is so scary. I blame it all on her. I am certain her brother would not act alone. No one loves their sibling that much!
You may want to consider seeing an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon since they are the experts trained in the removal of impacted wisdom teeth, not a Periodontist. Especially not one implicated in a Murder for Hire Case. It also seems quite self-serving that the father would refer you to his son. Do your due diligence and find yourself an Oral Surgeon.

How can the woman be charged in this and jailed without the Adelsons being arrested? I don’t get it. She had no reason to kill Markel. this has always always bothered me. The family let’s the poor people beneath them take the rap How are the Adelson’s left out of any guilt here?

I have been following the case since the murder occurred.
I am baffled why at least Charlie and his mother (the ex-wife’s mother and brother) have not been arrested and charged.
None of the people arrested have a reason to kill the victim. The two defendants’ only connection was this woman who worked for the Adelsons and is the mother of two children of one of the defendants.
There has to be something we lay people do not understand. One does not have to be a lawyer to see the connection. I guess the prosecution wants clear and convincing evidence to indict the rest of the family and/or they are waiting for remaining defendants (one has already plead) to turn.
The one who plead isn’t the one with the connection to the family or Charlie’s alleged girlfriend. Just keep in mind we are talking about the state of Florida. Reasonable Doubt does not appear difficult to secure there if you have good defense counsel.
I’ve followed this story too & there’s enough compelling evidence not to patronize that dental practice another day! An ‘anonymous’ source is even paying for Mangbua’s legal fees. That’s hoping she won’t flip on them. She also has two kids. Their father is in prison too so are the police investigating who has the children & their financial care? I’ll bet that $800/mos The mother was getting under the guise of being an employee is now going toward the care of those kids.
A murder all because he wanted to be near his kids!!! Doesn’t matter whether the parents liked each other. Co-parenting should’ve been more important. The mother changed their names & they haven’t seen their paternal grandparents in 4 yrs. I’d sue for visitation but they’re probably afraid those nuts will put a hit out on them too. I hope they eventually get enough evidence to arrest all 3 of them!!!
This pig that poses as a dentist hacked my mouth and left me with an injury on the top of my palet that hurts chronically every day…he was cocky when he walked in to do the procedure and just a nasty person to everyone he was around, bragging how great he was while he was working on my mouth about how he was invited to a bachelor party in Colombia but you had to be real special to go to it, appearantly he is very special – he was saying it because the dental assistant was from Columbia, thinking he was impressing him🙄 I wasn’t surprised at all when I saw that he was under investigation for murder I could see it so easily… he’s entitled, he’s cocky he is haughty and he doesn’t give a rats ass what he’s doing to people, he injured me for life with a hack on the roof of my mouth, when i told him, he responded, “Just don’t put your tongue on it then.” 3 years later still hurting –

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I would notify the state board that regulates dental practices as well.
I would consult with a malpractice attorney. I’ve worked in the dental field for 30 years assisting & managing a practice. Unfortunately, some dentist’s periodontist’s and oral surgeons think they are god-like. Some have been conceited, arrogant and thinking they’re better than the average citizen. One general dentist I worked for injured a patient and they received a pretty decent settlement amount.
I’d look into it before the statute of limitations Runs Out.
As far as having your wisdom teeth removed, never ever go to a periodontist. They basically treat the gum tissue.

He was my old dentist too. I cancelled an appointment and stopped going to him as soon as I found out about this case in the media. There’s no way these people are innocent.
I hope they all burn in hell, hooefully his gold digger girlfriend eventually will threw him under the bus.

I’ve been following this case also. Charles and the mother aree on tape and it sounds pretty incriminating to me! Why wasnt the evidence enough enough for an arrest? I hope they get theirs soon . Dans ex-wife has changed the childrens last name to Adelson and doesnt allow paternal relatives to see them! Oh, I can’t wait!!!!
I agree that finding a new dentist is a high priority. Chances of one of the three cracking up is a high probability as they know they are under heavy surveillance and scrutiny. Some people like risks but I don’t want myself, a loved one or my mouth near any of them.
I’ve been watching the trial on YouTube. Seems very unfair that Magbouno and Garcia have been sitting in jail for 3 years while the Adelson’s keep enjoying the fruits of the murder they ordered; the relocation of Wendi and the children to South Florida—their ultimate goal.

Get a second opinion from another general dentist about your wisdom teeth. They may be fine. Harvey doesn’t make the kind of money he makes by doing only what is necessary. I’m a dentist, by the way.

Thank you for this interesting slant on this tragic story. I just finished watching Katherine Magbanua, Charlie Adelson’s girlfriend, testify. She was destroyed on cross examination. Earlier I watched Charlie’s sister, Wendi Adelson, testily on the stand. What a loathsome person she appears to be. I hope Dan Markle and his family receive complete justice.
They are guilty, saw it last night on 20/20. Are they paying people off and/or politically connected. Sounds like Charlie and his mother are killers and should be in jail for the rest of their lives.

The Adelson’s are some of the most corrupt murdering drug dealing tax evading insurance scamming trash in the south Florida area. The word on the street is Charlie orchestrated the murder for hire. He is the guilty Kingpin. He knows the all the right people and has plenty of money to pay them. Donna and Wendi should both go down as well. Unless Wendi and Donna didn’t actually think Charlie would have carried out the murder, they are still a party to it.

as of 2021 the Adelson operation is out of business and the website name has gone over to a holding site. Chas does not work much. I think the father has Alshemiers. They have plenty of money as R Estate but it must be bleeding down quickly through legal costs which are on going. Developments
1. A deposition from Rivera which was never presented has come to light.
2. Two new witnesses for the prosecution have been found, one to replace Umchinda.
3. A new trial for Magbanua has been set for Feb 2022. After that I guess Jack Campbell will look at things and decide to proceed against Wendi Adelson or not.
4. No money went to WJA , as Markel had wisely changed is will.
5. THe Markels in Canada will likely sue the Adelsons for wrongful death at some time but I think they are waiting to see what Jack C decides to do.
