Evidently I am literally late to the party.
So a young lady in Atlanta decided to celebrate her 27th Birthday by organizing an orgy. I missed the notice, but evidently it was a real thing organized by a young lady named Cidney Green. I spend all of 2 minutes a day (if that) on Twitter and saw that one of the trending topics was #Atlorgy. As you could imagine memes and jokes were plentiful, but I could not find any real or factual information on what this event that was supposed to have taken place so I dug further.
There was little information about the actual event, but I was able to find some information on what the event was supposed to be and its organizer. Cidney Green is a self described entrepreneur. It is unclear exactly what her business is, but it appears to be a combination of phone sex services and selling erotic wear like t-shirts. Setting up sex/swinger parties clearly can be added to her resume.
The actual flyer/post for the events described it as a free for all where anything can go for consenting adults over the age of 21. Condoms and security would be provided, but there did not seem to be many rules beyond no phones or recording devices allowed. Single men would be charged a fee of $175.00 per person, single ladies $99.00 and couples $175.00. Originally the party appeared to have been organized in conjunction with a local swingers club in Atlanta, before it was eventually switched to a private location.
Twitter, social media and the Internet have no chill and offered many opinions and memes on the events ranging from it being a STD cesspool in wait to a scam in which the organizers never even showed up or that it was a psychology students experiment and no women actually showed up. The Internet does not care about facts or the truth so the jokes flowed readily. Unfortunately, a few days later there seems to be little known facts about the event other than it took place.
ATL ORGY – FUGAZI FREAK
Here is what I could make out. Cidney Green is a real person who put on a real event. The success of the event is obviously predicated upon who the question is posed to. 27 seems to be the count of men that keeps coming up. but no actual numbers have been verified as to the amount of people who actually showed up for the party. No known number of women to men is known either, other than Cidney Green posting videos saying that the event took place and women were present.
I never knock anyone’s hustle, particularly if the activity does not hurt others. These were all consenting adults, so anyone who paid their money for a party or activity that they are eventually dissatisfied with, really have no claim to blame anyone else, specially if there were not direct and inaccurate claims made and broken… that does not seem to be the case here.
How successful it was for Cidney Green is debatable as well. We do not know what her actual profits were and we do not know what her expenses were. Security costs. Venues normally costs. It’s easy to speculate she had the get over (and perhaps she did) but reason would have me believe it was hardly a great come up or get over for her.
Part of my research lead me to watch several videos with Cidney Green. A few were interviews others were self styled posts. She is not the most articulate spokesperson, but appears passionate and honest about her interests in sex. Like many, she has conflicting and even contradictory stances on safe sex and sexual matters, but whatever her opinions, they appear to be honest.
There is a reason sex sells. It is a topic that everyone has an opinion on (usually a strong one at that). I can’t knock the woman’s hustle. The swingers lifestyle may not be my thing, but what people choose to do and pay for in the privacy of secure venues is up to them. I am a big proponent of safe sex, and believe everyone should practice it, but again what consenting adults choose to do behind closed doors is ultimately their choice. The safe sex discussion is to be expounded further another time, but more than anything the party thrown by this women appears to be yet another testament to the power of the Internet caring little about facts when the jokes and memes are so much more entertaining.
